Last year, Scouting America commissioned The Harris Poll to track 3,178 adults, revealing many benefits to reaching Eagle Scout rank. This study serves as a powerful catalyst for council growth. The data shows that not only are 74% of Eagle Scouts leaders in their workplace (double the rate of non-Scouts), but they are also nearly 3x more likely to lead in their local communities.
Eagle Scouts also demonstrate exceptional ethical standards, with 99% willing to return a lost wallet with $100 intact and 98% ready to intervene against bullying. Eagle Scouts report higher daily levels of gratitude (+11%) and purpose (+18%) alongside reduced rates of loneliness and fear compared to non-Scouts.
