Annual National Membership Fee
Membership Fee (Effective May 1, 2024)
Effective May 1, 2024, the BSA will eliminate the $25 one-time joining fee for new program participants in Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, and Sea Scouting.
- $85/Yr for Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing and Sea Scouting participants
- $65/yr for all adult volunteers
- $30/yr for Scoutreach
- $25/yr for Merit Badge Counselors
- $50/yr for Exploring participants Youth & Adults
- $100/yr unit renewal/affiliation fee
- $15/yr for Scout Life magazine
New Membership and Unit Renewal Process
Members Registration Renewal:
All Scouting America registrations are on a 12-month membership cycle. Both youth and adults who newly register will pay the full annual membership fee and will renew their membership on the anniversary date of joining Scouts.
Each registered member of Scouting America will receive an email notice with a registration renewal link beginning 60 days before the anniversary date they joined Scouting. The email will contain a link that will will direct them to my.scouting.org to renew.
Unit Pays for Member Registration Renewals:
The Unit Key 3 are notified by email which members are due to renew. The unit is able to pay the youth and or adult membership renewal. The unit can also choose not to renew a member (opt-out).
Unit Renewal (recharter)
The Unit Renewal (Rechartering) will be available starting November 1. This can be found in my.scouting.org under Organization Manager>Unit Renewal. This process renews the unit only, not any members.
