BASIC ADULT OUTDOOR ORIENTATION (BALOO) and INTRODUCTION TO OUTDOOR LEADER SKILLS (IOLS)

The Pony Express Council is offering a combined training opportunity for adult Cub Scout and Scouts BSA leaders at Camp Geiger. The training will begin on July 10th at 6:00 PM and conclude in the afternoon on July 11th. Participants will have the opportunity to complete two important training courses: Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS). BALOO is designed for Cub Scout leaders and focuses on planning and conducting safe and fun Cub Scout overnight camping trips. IOLS is for Scouts BSA leaders, providing them with the fundamental outdoor skills needed to lead Scouts in outdoor settings.
This training event will equip leaders with the knowledge and practical experience necessary to confidently lead their units in various outdoor adventures. The $15 registration fee covers the cost of the food that participants will cook as part of the course. Please see the included equipment list for the weekend. Leaders will have the chance to network with other Scouting volunteers, share best practices, and enhance their leadership abilities.
